Yoga For Gardeners

I’m offering a short workshop to help with posture for gardening. Warm-ups, stretches, using tools as props, doing garden tasks in yoga poses, moving from the deep core. I led a three-week series last year. This year it’s fine-tuned and condensed. Contact Kula to register; please contact me at 632-6591 if you have questions. Fee is $20/person.

New Certification – CYA-RYT500 :)

My 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training certificate has arrived! I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity to study and practice with awesome senior yoga teachers at Yogaspace. I thoroughly recommend their training for anyone who can spend the time in Toronto. Together with the 200-hour training I participated in at Yogaspace in 2012, this recognizes me for 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (plus I have some separate certificates in addition :)) And I had the good fortune to also be able to spend time with my mother and my son as well as Toronto friends; and to take art courses at OCAD over most of my Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Yoga Teacher Training periods. Much thanks again to all who gave me support and encouragement over the past six years+ as I figured out how to re-organize my life post-injury. My yoga teaching practice is growing thanks to my students, colleagues, teachers, and friends: Thank you!!

Yoga For Paddlers: Wednesdays November 12 to December 17, 7-8pm at Hospice Northwest

Hatha Yoga is a great way to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation skills. The pace of the class is moderate; it’s suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Modifications are provided for injuries and limitations, so that postures are kept safe and effective. This class is initiated by The Grizzlies kayaking club, so will have a focus on learning the basics of classical yoga poses that are particularly suited to the demands of paddling, but are useful for everyone. Fee for Hospice Northwest volunteers: $8/class, but a $5 discount if committing to the series of 6 classes and paying in advance. Props are provided (you’re welcome to bring your own mat). Students wear whatever is comfortable to move in. Classes are on Wednesday evenings 7-8pm November 12 to December 17, and a new session will begin again in January.
