I’m an emerging yoga teacher with over 20 years’ experience as a massage therapist, a love for the human body, and a lifelong interest in helping others. In my personal quest to celebrate and sustain health, I began a lifelong relationship with yoga in 1989. My personal physical practice remained intermittent until injuries from an auto accident in 2009 made yoga my best hope for recovery. I chose teaching yoga as a way to bring my values, experiences, and abilities forward.
I’m registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance as a CYA-RYT200, and am currently nearing completion of the 500-hour advanced teacher training program at Yogaspace in Toronto. In addition, I’m certified to teach Yoga for Round Bodies. My specialties are restorative yoga, beginner Hatha yoga, and a therapeutic style involving hands-on bodywork techniques (based on the work of Kathryn Beet). I usually teach small classes that allow for plenty of individual attention. Yoga philosophy and anatomy are included alongside asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing), and guided meditation.
