about me

I’m an emerging yoga teacher with over 20 years’ experience as a massage therapist, a love for the human body, and a lifelong interest in helping others.  In my personal quest to celebrate and sustain health, I began a lifelong relationship with yoga in 1989.  My personal physical practice remained intermittent until injuries from an auto accident in 2009 made yoga my best hope for recovery.   I chose teaching yoga as a way to bring my values, experiences, and abilities forward.

I’m registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance as a CYA-RYT200, and am currently nearing completion of the 500-hour advanced teacher training program at Yogaspace in Toronto.  In addition, I’m certified to teach Yoga for Round Bodies.  My specialties are restorative yoga, beginner Hatha yoga, and a therapeutic style involving hands-on bodywork techniques (based on the work of Kathryn Beet).  I usually teach small classes that allow for plenty of individual attention.  Yoga philosophy and anatomy are included alongside asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing), and guided meditation.  Please contact me with requests to bring yoga to your conference, retreat, or community event.
