Yoga for Round Bodies promotes health at every size in a respectful and inclusive atmosphere. Postures are adapted to suit each student’s body using a variety of props. Modifications make each posture healthy, safe, comfortable, and effective to build strength, release tension, increase body awareness, and develop comfortable alignment. Beginners always welcome. Fee: $12/class; $60 for series of 6. Please contact the instructor Robin Faye at 632-6591 or yoga@robinfaye.ca for more information and to register.

Slow Yoga: Tuesdays beginning November 4, 1:30-2:30pm at Kula Yoga

Slow Yoga is a mix of Hatha and Restorative styles, providing both strength and balance development and deep stretch and relaxation. The pace of the class is slow and the movements are gentle with plenty of modifications to make them safe.  Classes begin with breath awareness and visualization, progress to incorporating the breath with movement in asana, and quieting the body into deeply relaxing restorative postures that embody the absence of effort. Students wear loose, comfy clothing and are supported by a variety of yoga props. Beginners always welcome! Contact Kula Studio for fees and to register online www.kulastudio.ca.

                                      Thursdays November 6 to December 11, 2-3:15pm at Yoga4All

De-stress and renew with deeply relaxing restorative yoga postures designed to relax, stretch, and bring you deeply into your own body and breath. Postures are fully supported by props and held for an extended time with very little, or even no effort. Guided meditations and visualizations help develop body awareness and give you tools that can be practiced at home and in life. Classes are small, with plenty of individual attention. This class is suitable for anyone who can lie on the floor, and is especially useful for people recovering from illness and/or injuries, or, as with most of us … stress. For the Tuesday evening class, please contact Kula Studio for fees and to register online www.kulastudio.ca. Please contact the instructor Robin Faye at 632-6591 or yoga@robinfaye.ca about Thursday afternoons at Yoga4All.

Yoga For Paddlers: Wednesdays November 12 to December 17, 7-8pm at Hospice Northwest

Hatha Yoga is a great way to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation skills. The pace of the class is moderate; it’s suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Modifications are provided for injuries and limitations, so that postures are kept safe and effective. This class is initiated by The Grizzlies kayaking club, so will have a focus on learning the basics of classical yoga poses that are particularly suited to the demands of paddling, but are useful for everyone. Fee for Hospice Northwest volunteers: $8/class, but a $5 discount if committing to the series of 6 classes and paying in advance. Props are provided (you’re welcome to bring your own mat). Students wear whatever is comfortable to move in. Classes are on Wednesday evenings 7-8pm November 12 to December 17, and a new session will begin again in January. Please contact instructor Robin Faye at 632-6591 or yoga@robinfaye.ca for more information and to register.
