I’m registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance as a CYA-E-RYT500, which means that I’ve participated in 500 hours of formal Yoga Teacher Training in an accredited school – in my case at Yogaspace in Toronto -and I have “E” for experience. In addition, I’m certified to teach Yoga for Round Bodies, Adapted Yoga: Sit, Stand, or Wheel, and Yoga for Seniors. I’m also a certified Laughter Yoga Leader. My focus is on Restorative Yoga, beginner Hatha Yoga, and Adapted Yoga.
Small yoga classes allow each student to receive plenty of individual attention. I also have a private practice where I offer individual lessons, and bodywork. From time to time I offer workshops on specific topics, including Yoga for Gardeners, Basic Body Awareness, and Self-Massage.
I love to explain anatomy and when class size allows, I often offer simple bodywork in my classes. I belong to Natural Health Practitioners of Canada, a national professional association that recognizes me as a practitioner in Reiki, reflexology, massage (but not RMT), Thai massage, and CranioSacral1 as well as in Yoga instruction. I also belong to the Canadian Yoga Alliance.
I enjoy teaching beginners, figuring out relevant modifications for classical postures, and encouraging all students to develop breath and body awareness, healthy movement, and grounded confidence in themselves as yoga students and practitioners.
